8/7/2011 - What do you think about Kettlebells?
So, I just started reading a book called, "The 4-Hour Body" by Timothy Ferriss. You may recognize the vaguely familiar title from his recent bestseller, "The 4-Hour Workweek," which was also chock full of new ideas that challenge what we all accept daily as our reality.
I am only a few pages into this book, but so far I am finding it very interesting. It is has interesting tips, plus it is truly entertaining; the author uses a light tone and you really feel like he is experimenting with his body for the "greater good." So, what peaked my interest about this book? The question which drew me in was, "Are the results you are getting equal to the work you are putting in?" And definitely, the answer to that question for me is NO! I want to get the results I deserve from all the work I put in...Does that mean that I will try a few different thing to optimize my results? Hells Yes!
With over 150 pounds shed already, I have been in a year-long stand still! Not a full year...but I have only lost 30 pounds in the last 2 years. So, yea, I am ready to rock the boat on this stagnate metabolism. (This is not normal as I do have a metabolism disorder called Hashimoto's).
So as of today, Day 1: The only things I have tried so far was eating grapefruit with my breakfast to extend the benefits of my coffee... I sprinkled cinnamon on the grapefruit (another tip). The other thing I have tried today is Kettleball swings. I did 150 because the highest weight we have at my gym is 15 pounds. I'll let you know if and when these tiny changes start emulsifying the fat off my body!
