My friend Suzie at http://stomach-rumblings.blogspot.com/ is a true inspiration! Check out her blog and her most recent challenge to her blogisphere. And, guess what? I am in! And I am gonna give Suzie and the team a run for their money.

4. Sleep: 8 hours of sleep 5x/week (I know...should be everynight, but we are taking baby steps here!)
5. Read 3 books/month (just to stay sane)
6. Give myself healthy rewards for each goal acheived!

5/28/2011 - Pancakes and Omelet

Homestyle Pancakes (frozen) are great! I don't use syrup, but I use one of my free items in cool whip. Used a lunch veggie on the omelet (protein). Was just delicious and is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite breakfasts.

5/26/2011 - Eatin' out!! Passion8 Bistro in Fort Mill, SC

When you are on Nutrisystem, eating out can certainly be a challenge. I usually eat a bar and have veggies.

I had a business meeting at Passion8 Bistro in Fort Mill, SC. I ordered the Tomato Soup (the Tomatoes are fresh from their garden!!) and a salad. It was really good and I had a fabulous time while eating out. The cheese (goat cheese on salad and parmesan sprinkled on soup) was my protein. The olives were my fat serving for the say.

5/24/2011 - Crunch! and 2 Lunches!

Okay, this may not be my FAVORITE breakfast, but it is in the top 5 and certainly fills those monthly chocolate cravings. Just delicious. Tastes almost exactly like a Nestle Crunch, but slightly better!

Bar lunches, I love you! The chocolate lunch is required when I am traveling, but delicious all the time. I have to admit, my affinity to the Fudge Graham Bar and the Trail Mix Bar is intense. But, I wanted to give the Double Chocolate Caramel Bar a fair shot. Done and Done. It was pretty good, but I can only order so many lunches and I prefer the Fudge Graham and Trail Mix to the Double Chocolate Caramel Bar.
Fudgey chocolate and gooey caramel with a bit of a crunch in the chocolate. Really good, but not my favorite bar.

The Pizza is the bomb! I add jalapenos to mine and cook in the toaster oven. Comes out perfectly every time.

5/22/2011 - Randomness...Making Tea

I am not proud of this, but I forgot to put water in the mug when I microwaved my tea. This was the result! Luckily no animals (myself included) were hurt during the creation of this photo...though, I did burn my hand a little bit.

5/20/2011 - Food Review, Southern Style Biscuit and Gravy

Nutrisystem Debuts its new Southern-Style Biscuits & Gravy!

My favorite biscuits and gravy are made from the Nutrisystem Pancake Mix in my Puff Pan. So, when I got this new item from Nutrisystem, I was excited to try it, but the bar was already pretty high because the puff pan biscuits are amazing!

The instructions are pretty extensive.

From Nutrisystem.com:
GRAVY
1. Measure ½ cup of hot water in a microwave-safe bowl; add gravy mix and stir until powder is dissolved. Let stand 5 minutes (prepare biscuit during this time). 2. Cover with a paper towel and microwave on HIGH (100% power) for 30 seconds. Stir. Cover and microwave for 30 seconds more. 3. Stir well and pour over the biscuit you prepared. (Microwave ovens vary; adjust time as needed.)
BISCUIT
1. Pour biscuit mix into a small microwave-safe bowl; add 4 teaspoons of water and mix until dough forms. 2. Shape and cover with paper towel and microwave on HIGH (100% power) for 45 seconds; carefully lift paper towel to check for doneness. (Microwave ovens vary; adjust time as needed.)
Do not heat in a conventional oven.

What? Do not heat in the oven? What will a microwaved biscuit taste like? That is a lot of work for a biscuit, you might think. And you would be right. It is a lot of work. Definitely not a breakfast I can deal with while I am rushing around getting ready for work, but on the weekend, it could be worth the effort.

As far as the directions, I couldn't stir with 4 teaspoons, so I had to use 5 teaspoons. And when I covered the gravy with a napkin, the napkin fell in and absorbed quite a bit of the fluid (trust me, there was still enough to go around). Overall, as far as the flavor, it didn't taste like Mama's homebaked biscuits, but it was pretty yummy.

Formed biscuit after being nuked in the microwave.

Plated breakfast with 2 turkey sausage links as my protein and an apple.

5/15/2011 - New Boxes and New iPhone!

So, one of the first things to do on our long "to do" list for our move to Charlotte was to get new iPhones! Yay, can check that off the list. If anyone has an iPhone, you know how productive it can be to your life (as in taking great pictures--or unproductive, as in playing Words with Friends). I still haven't figured out how to blog from it, but hopefully soon! With that said...on to another item on the "to do" list. Order NS food and get customized!

My order came Friday the 13th. It had the fully customized shelf-stable foods in the Big Brown Box and the fully customized frozen foods in the Big White Cooler Box. (Not "cooler" as in hip, but cooler as in Fridge container). See below for the boxes + the earliest stages of the unload. And you can look forward to some new reviews, because I have tons of new foods in the new order.

Seis de Mayo -- Los Tacos

I have to congratulate myself for staying on plan when everyone around me was eating churros, enchiladas and tacos.

Instead I had Nutrisystem Beef Tacos, I love those little guys! Too bad they were discontinued. But this is, by far, my favorite Nutrisystem item ever!! It is just a flexible, delicious entree. Downsides? Well, there is 1 downside...it isn't really a "travel food." You need a kitchen and there are several steps. I don't usually travel with the pizzas either...but this is one I wish they would revive. It was a nice treat for Cinco de Mayo with my family.
