11/30/2010 - Week 19, Check!

Week 19

November 23th-November 29th
Weight: 215
Week 19 loss: .4lbs
Total for 19 weeks: 32 pounds

So, the challenge I expected with Thanksgiving turned out to be nuthin'. I am committed to my program and love the energy that eating healthy and nourishing my body give me. It wasn't really a matter of self control as much as just doing what I always do! It is very nice to have the tools in my toolbox to make concious decisions about my health.

I tried a new dinner this week!
I ate the Pot Roast with Vegetables and it was really good. I will post some pictures after my child downloads them for me.

11/28/2010 - New Foods and a Recipe!

Banana Nut Muffin

The banana nut muffin is served with a peeled and fried apple (Pam, apple, cinnamon, and vanilla) and a scrambled fried egg.
I heated up the muffin for 10 seconds and it was moist and pretty good. I do prefer the Double Chocolate Muffin and the Blueberry Muffin, but that is just taste preference. A delicious breakfast!

Pancake Mix Variations!
Pancake Mix is probably the most versatile and delicious NS option. I rely heavily on the pancakes, often eating them as desserts too.

This is Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix photographed above. Added 1 T. of pumpkin. Wonderful served with strawberries and a fried egg.

Apple cake using Pancake Mix.
First: Spray bottom of Pyrex (or other pan) with Pam and sprinkle with cinnamon
Second: Peel Apple, cut in half and slice 1/2 into very thin slices and finely chop the other half
Third: Layer the slices on the bottom of the pan
Fourth: Mix pancake mix, 3T. of ff half and half, 1/2 t. baking powder, 1T. sf caramel syrup, 1 packet of splend and the chopped apples
Fifth: Pour batter over the apple slices
Sixth: Cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees

Serve with a protein serving for the full breakfast! Delicious!!!

11/21/2010 - Preparing for Turkey Day!

No, I am not nervous about Thanksgiving. If I say it over and over 5 times, maybe it will be true! But, like all Holidays (and really like everyday), I know that I need to be prepared, have a plan, and come armed with knowledge and a hefty stash of healthy veggies.

So, what is my plan?
Step 1: Eating a healthy breakfast. That one is easy, breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day.
Step 2: Sticking to my Nutrisystem Plan.
Step 3: Each protein will be baked Turkey Breast all day.
Step 4: I am eating a huge salad!!!
Step 5: Have a satisfying NS dessert.
Step 6: Be grateful for my healthy body and all the gifts in my life.

Veggies: V8, Green Beans, Squash with 1t. Brown Sugar, Salad, Tomatoes
These will be dispursed through the day!

11/17/2010 - Week 17 Results! 30 pounds down!

Week 17

November 8th-November 14th

Weight: 216.8

Week 17 loss: 1lb

Total for 17 weeks: 30.2 pounds

This week was fabulous!! I lost a full pound, pushing me into 30 pounds lost on Nutrisystem! I love this diet. I am never hungry and have so many choices that I truly get to eat anything I am craving. Most importantly, I don't have to sacrifice time with my friends or family (except when I get gassy) due to the inability to eat. I can always much salads and find something Nutrisystem friendly on any menu.

I got to taste a few new things this week.
First was the Chocolate Fudge Dessert, which was fantastic! Tastes like fudge and has a bit of a crunch! The other thing I tried was a dinner: Oriental Steak with Green Peppers and Noodles. It tasted like chinese food and I ate it straight out of the box. So good!

So, I know that my weight loss isn't as fast as some, but at 80 pounds for the year and 30 pounds in 17 weeks on Nutrisystem; I am completely on track!!!

11/1/2010 - Week 13-15 Weigh-in

Week 13-15

October 11th-October 31st

Weight: 218.8

Week 13-15 loss: 2.2lbs

Total for 15 weeks: 28.2 pounds

Workouts: Tons of workouts!
Challenges: Okay, there were challenges...4 weeks for only 2.2 pounds loss sucks. It is still half a pound a week. But with a zero in week 12 and 2.2 in week 13-15, my grand total for 4 weeks is 2.2 pounds!

So, I guess I can't say I was completely on plan. I didn't cheat, but I did have a stomach virus and couldn't eat for 3 days at all. Anything I ate, I barfed. So, even though I was on plan outside of that, I think it messed up my balance a bit (thyroid, fluid levels, etc.) But I am very, very happy to be under 220! 220 is my perpetual plateau. I think it may be my body's set-point. No matter what, it is the weight where my body usually hovers, so I am really glad to be under that number.

My focus is on adding intense weight training this week.

Joined "The Biggest Loser" contest at work! So, the competition is on!
